Belgian Municipality to boost TVET in Gatsibo

A delegation of six people from Waregem municipality located in Belgium is in Rwanda to see how best their cooperation with Gatsibo district can enhance TVET through support to Ngarama VTC.

This comes at a time they are preparing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their cooperation with the same district, scheduled to take place on Friday October 26, 2012.

The delegation met with WDA top management on Wednesday 24, October to discuss areas of support which include class room construction, provision of equipment for construction, welding and electronics.

The delegation was led by Jo Neirynck, the Vice Mayor of Weregem in charge of development cooperation and one of the initiator’s of this collaboration, Paul Kindt.

While addressing the team, the Director General of WDA Jerome Gasana briefed them on constant efforts to improve the image of TVET in Rwanda through provision of hands-on-skills and upgrading levels in the same field.


Isaie Habarurema the Vice Mayor of Gatsibo district in charge of Economic affairs also expressed optimism to benefit more from this cooperation as they mark the 25th anniversary.


According to Gatsibo mayor Ambrose Ruboneza , the Belgian Government has over the last 25 years contributed over Rwf370 million towards the development of Gastibo district.
