Hotel restaurant owners urged Hotel & restaurant owners urged to train workersEmployers in hotels, motels restaurants and bars have been called upon to support their workers in upgrading their technical skills for better service delivery.

This call was made by the coordinator of Remera Hospitality Academy (RHA) Sam Barigye in a meeting with owners from the Eastern Province.

The meeting was in preparation for a one month training whichstarted today.. Employees in this kind of business will benefit from a training that covers Food & Beverage, culinary Art, Front Office operations, Housekeeping and customer care.

One group of employees will be trained in Kayonza district (Eastland Motel) while another one will be in Nyagatare district (Blue sky Hotel).  According to the RHA coordinator, their target is to have at least 120 trainees in each of the training sites.

This kind of training according to most employers in this sector is highly needed as service delivery is not yet at its best level.

Among other objectives, this training aims at addressing the existing skills gap evidenced in the hospitality industry by upgrading their technical skills and competencies so as to become competitive and employable on the labour market.
