Tina Uwayo, one of the girls that chose mason and bricklaying course at APRODOSC, has said that there are no difficulties female masons meet throughout the studies.

A senior five student at APRODOSC, Uwayo Tina was chosen by the teacher to demonstrate to the reporter how girls are capable in skills like boys.

Tina confirms that she and other girls perform well to an extent of out competing their fellow male students.

Uwayo asserts that building will give her a job immediately after the course because skills are important on today’s labour market.

Uwayo advises other girls to be confident and join vocational schools and use the skills attained for social and economic development.

Jean Luc Kayiranga, a teacher at APRODOSC reveals the only challenge students face is lack of materials because these centres are still few.
